Rev. Lamont Duane was born and raised in Oakland, California. Lamont Brown was licensed to preach the gospel in 1981 by the Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Binghamton, New York, and had his license reaffirmed by the Greater Mount Moriah Church in Richmond, Virginia, where he was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1990. Lamont attended and graduated from Virginia Union University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and Religion and The School of Theology at Virginia Union, where he received the Master of Divinity Degree in 1991.

Rev. Brown has served in various capacities as a Christian Minister, including leadership roles in the local, state, regional and national church. His passion lies in Christian Education and personal transformation. He has served as Pastor of Calvary Church in Kilmarnock, VA; the Mount Olive Church in Virginia Beach, and The Sanctuary in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Brown currently serves as Pastor of the Hilliard Chapel AME Zion Church in the wonderful Port City of Stockton, California. He is the first child of three children born to Julius and Brenda Brown. He is a proud member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated and a life member of the NAACP. Rev. Brown is an adoring father to Lamont Duane Brown III, a graduate of Morgan State University, and Morgan LaKeiya Brown, a senior at North Carolina Central University.
