Reverend Rubye P.D. Hayden was born in Berwind, WV and raised in Southern California. Pastor Hayden Retired from Mukilteo school District after 22 years of service, working in supervisory positions. Pastor Hayden continues to volunteer as advisor to Mariner High Schools Black Student Union and Step team. Pastor Hayden has served for many years as advisor to Mariner’s Book Club, Poetry Club and the schools Undoing Institutionalized Racism organization.

Pastor Hayden is the mother of two grown children and grandmother to three girls. Pastor Hayden is a poet with one book published in 2000 (Words Spoken Here). Some of her works have been published in local newspapers and school books. Rubye Hayden attended Pierce College in Woodland Hills California, and Idaho State College in Pocatello Idaho. Pastor Hayden is currently attending Everett Community College in Everett WA.
