After graduating from the first HBCU in the nation he immediately enrolled into the oldest black institution of the south, better known as Shaw University, to study under Gardner C. Taylor and receive his Masters of Divinity. He is currently a candidate for the Doctorate of Ministry at United Theological Seminary and a member of Prince Hall’s Widow Son Lodge in Raleigh, NC.

Staccato Keithan Powell was born on an Easter Sunday in April 22, 1984. Before being ordained as Reverend Powell in January 2004, Staccato preached his initial sermon in November of 2000 at Mount Hebron A.M.E. Zion church in Hallsboro, North Carolina. He would continue to establish his legacy in the year 2002. It was during this year that Staccato Powell became one of the first African-Americans at Washington Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church to earn the coveted Eagle Scout Badge issued by the Boy Scouts of America in Saint Louis, Missouri. This honor has proven to serve as an inspiration for thousands of other African-American youth. Reverend Powell is a former Maxwell Football Club award recipient because of his outstanding academic and athletic performance while in attendance at West Chester East High School. In 2003, Reverend Powell attended Lincoln University. It would be here at Lincoln University that Rev. Powell was initiated into the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Beta Chapter. He would describe his initiation as one of the most challenging but rewarding experiences.
While at Lincoln, Rev. Powell would continue to expound upon his experiences by studying abroad in the South of France. While he lived in Aix-en-Provence, Rev. Powell traveled extensively through the continent of Europe. Some of the locations include Nime, Nice, Monte Carlo, San Tropez, Paris, Rome, Italy, Amsterdam, and last but not least Barcelona, Spain. Rev. Powell would graduate from Lincoln University in 2007 and begin to shape the lives of the individuals he encountered as a youth minister.
