Reverend Joyce Avery was born and raised in Detroit, MI. Joyce Avery was called into the ministry to preach and teach the Word of God in 2000. Joyce attended the Ambassador’s for Christ School of Ministry and was licensed to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in 2001 and was subsequently ordained in 2003 by Bishop Turnell Nelson. She attended Wayne State University and holds a Masters of Arts degree in Religious Counseling from the American College of Metaphysical Theology.
Reverend Avery has served in the C.M.E. Church for seven years and has recently transferred to the A.M.E. Zion Church and was appointed pastor of Faith Temple A.M.E. Zion located in Perris, CA. Joyce has served diligently in her perspective community by helping those less fortunate. She founded the Survivors of Assault Recovery, Inc., a 501c3 designated non-profit organization that provides counseling/prayer to women and children impacted by family violence. Reverend Avery has also produced an outreach television program; “Common Ground”, which has aired on Time Warner and Cox Cable on tv stations.
Joyce Avery serves in ministry with her husband and is the mother of five children. Joyce is artistic and enjoys painting portraits, singing, playing the piano and gardening.
