Pastor Myra Jean Hicks was born in Farmingdale, New York and raised in East Palo Alto, California. She served in the AME Zion Church for twenty-eight years prior to her departure on a journey away from the AME Zion Church. The journey was met with many challenges to include divorce, drugs and a life spent running from the” Church”. In 1994, she got clean and within ten years, she was ordained (in another denomination).

In Zion February 2018, God called Myra Hicks back to Zion where she served under Rev. Olliver Jean Rogers, Pastor of the Peculiar Children of God AME Zion Church in Sacramento, CA. In June of 2018, under the direction of Bishop Staccato Powell, the Presiding Prelate of the Western Episcopal District of the AME Zion Church, Rev. Hicks was appointed Pastor of Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church, Modesto, CA. In October 2018, she received her ordination from the AME Zion Church under the leadership of Bishop Staccato Powell.

Married to Terrence Hicks, Pastor Myra is the mother of four children and is also a licensed Insurance Broker for twenty-two years. Myra enjoys sharing her story and conducts Workshops under her ministry S.M.A.R.T (Surrender Mindsets and Restore Truth). She is very active in the community and just loves being used by God.
